Following the Receivership of ESCOM last week, the Receivers have re-opened the stores this morning ( Tuesday 16th July). In order to ensure high quality service, the Receivers have arranged for ALL ESCOM computers sold from this date to have a full twelve month on-site warranty included in the sale price.
The PRODUCTCARE warranty is underwritten at Lloyd's of London and Companies in the London Market by Syndicate 439, a member of the Wellington Underwriting Agencies Limited - one of the largest managing Agencies in Lloyds. PRODUCTCARE is administered by Computacare International Limited, a member of the International Insurance Services Group. The Group have been administering Insurance based warranties for 10 years and are based at Greenview House, Manor Road, Wallington, Surrey SM6 0BN.
Existing ESCOM users are no longer covered by any warranty as their previous ESCOM warranty was not insured and ceased to be valid when the Company was placed in Receivership. Computacare has in conjunction with Wellington, the Insurers of the new ESCOM warranty, arranged to offer support to existing ESCOM computer owners.
Anybody whose ESCOM computer is less than twelve months old can contact Computacare on 0181 286 6606 and purchase either twelve or twenty-four months extended warranty that will start from the date of application NOT from the original date of purchase of the machine.
The price for these policies is 80 pounds sterling for twelve months and 149 pounds sterling for twenty-four months inclusive of insurance premium tax. They are zero rated for VAT. Because the new extended warranties are fully insured, anyone who purchases one is guaranteed that their cover will not be invalidated by any company failure. The warranty covers the cost of on-site labour and parts following electrical or mechanical breakdown. Full details and conditions are sent to every policy holder and they have a 14 day option to cancel without cost.
